Board Members

Sheila is the current President of the TAAPS board of directors, and she has served on the board since 2006. Sheila is the director of the School for Young Children, a private non-profit program for students with language based learning differences in Houston. Tiffany is the newest member of the TAAPS board, joining in July 2018. She is Director of Development at Concordia University Texas, and was previously Director of Development at St. Francis School in Austin, Texas, a member of TAAPS since 2006. David joined the TAAPS Board in 2013. David founded Paragon Prep School in 1997 and serves as the Headmaster. Paragon is a for-profit, nonsectarian school for exceptional students in grades PreK – 8th grade in Austin. Paragon has been accredited by TAAPS since 2003. Patrick is the current Treasurer of TAAPS, having joined the board of directors in 2013. He is an Assistant Principal of Trafton Academy, a school serving gifted and on-grade-level students in the southwest part of Houston. He has been with Trafton Academy since 1995. The school has been accredited with TAAPS since 2000.

Betty has a long tenure on the TAAPS board, starting her service as a board member in 1986. During that tenure, Betty spent a full decade as our organization’s representative to the TEPSAC board. For thirty-five years, she headed The Village School, an international private independent school in Houston. Barbara joined the TAAPS Board in 2008 and currently serves as the Vice President. Since 2011 she is also the organization’s TEPSAC Commissioner. Barbara is the Founder and Head of St. Francis School in Austin. Since 1985, St. Francis School has fulfilled the mission “Excellence without Exclusivity,” and now serves over 400 students. Linda joined the TAAPS Board in 2009. She has been the Principal of St. Mark’s School for 16 years. The school serves pre-K - 8th grade academically advanced students in El Paso. Adam joined the TAAPS board in 2015. He is the co-founder and head of the school at Griffin School, a college-prep high school community that integrates academic rigor and creativity for compassionate, intellectually curious students in Austin.
